Here's the car as I found her,
slowly rotting away at an impound
lot in Watsonville, California back
in April of 2007. This place was not
a pretty site. The car was not a
pretty sight. I believe that bondo is
holding most of the back end
together.
Hardly any of the panels matched.
Friends and family really thought I
had lost it when I drove this
around to show them. What the
hell was I thinking?
This is what I was thinking! Literally
one month later, this is how the
car looked after the Alameda Car
Care Center did body work and
paint. Everyone thought I had
bought another better looking car.
The work on the car continues to
this day. Even changing out a
faulty indicator light is an
adventure in car maintenance.
Ready to take on the task of
circumnavigating the globe for
charity.
A before and after film of the car.
When I made this I had planned to
do the Mongol Rally.
